Family Tree
23andMe’s Family Tree is currently in beta and helps visualize some of the connections surfaced through the DNA Relative Finder. It uses an algorithm to predict where your closest relatives fit in your family tree based on your shared DNA and ages.
They stress that this prediction is only a best guess, and other relationships are possible with DNA matches found with the service.
Right now you cannot edit or add new family members, but the feature should be available in the next couple of months.
The service also lets you add information about parents, grandparents, and beyond.
Here is an overview of what the data looks like:

DNA Relative Finder
The DNA Relative Finder is perhaps one of the most controversial and helpful features of 23andMe. Using their matching algorithm, 23andMe surfaces connections between you and other members of their service. To date, I have 1259 potential relatives who have used the service.
They break down into the following categories:
Relative Type | Percentage |
Immediate Family | 0.16% |
Second Cousins | 1.11% |
Third To Distant Cousins | 98.73% |
